Makkah – Salla, Saudi Arabia’s leading ecommerce platform, has announced the acquisition of Paylink, a Saudi fintech company specializing in payment solutions, in a strategic move to strengthen Salla’s capabilities in financial technology and expand the range of financial solutions available to merchants as they manage and grow their businesses.
Paylink is a Saudi fintech company that carries the Saudi Tech mark and is licensed by the Saudi Central Bank to provide ecommerce payment services. Over the past several years, the company has developed specialized payment infrastructure designed to serve businesses and merchants across the Kingdom.
The acquisition forms part of Salla’s strategy to build an integrated ecosystem that supports merchants throughout every stage of business growth. It also expands Salla’s role beyond enabling sales and operations, toward providing more advanced and intelligent financial services built around the needs of merchants and their businesses.
By combining the capabilities of Salla and Paylink, Salla aims to create a more integrated experience for accepting and managing payments across both ecommerce and physical sales channels. This will also support the development of smarter point-of-sale payment solutions, including SoftPOS technology, giving merchants greater flexibility to accept payments wherever a sale takes place.
Paylink’s capabilities also support Salla’s ambition to help merchants reach customers beyond their local market and accept payments from around the world. Its infrastructure supports international selling use cases, multiple currencies, and a variety of payment methods, opening more opportunities for Saudi brands to grow and expand regionally and globally.
The acquisition brings together Salla’s deep understanding of commerce and the needs of tens of thousands of merchants with Paylink’s technical and regulatory expertise in payments. Together, these capabilities lay the foundation for a new phase of integration between commerce and financial services, giving merchants an ecosystem that can better support their growth across new channels and markets.
Nawaf Hariri, Founder and CEO of Salla, said:
“Since Salla was founded, our goal has been to enable merchants to build and grow their businesses through an integrated ecosystem that reduces complexity and gives them the tools they need to scale. We see financial services as a natural extension of that vision. Our acquisition of Paylink brings important capabilities and expertise into Salla, helping us build smarter and more integrated payment solutions and enabling our merchants to accept payments wherever their customers are, whether online or at the point of sale, inside Saudi Arabia and beyond.”
The acquisition reflects Salla’s continued investment in the infrastructure that will shape the future of commerce, building a more integrated ecosystem across commerce, payments, and financial services. This supports the growth of Saudi brands within the Kingdom while also helping them expand regionally and reach new markets and customers.
